I have a problem with my electric shower, it is a GAINSBOROUGH ENERGY 2000X, on investigation on various sites i realise this is probably not a great model!!, however, it was already in house when I moved in.
When in the shower and turning it on it tripped the electrics and had to be reset, I have had no hot water in the shower since. Has it died? worth getting fixed? anything inexpensive? - all other water ok, just the shower, please help. cheers...................

Yep the shower has gone …………!

Not worth repairing. Usually better to bye a cheaper model and replace every 5years or so

Hi
Sound like somethings shorted out
two things possible...
Element has corroded and shorted
Thermostat has corroded and shorted
My advise would be to have the unit replaced
Steph

other possibility

I had something similar it turned out the person who wired it up used 13 amp connector strips as opposed to 45 amp in the attic the wires were melted into each other smoking away i reckon it was about two or three more showers before it burst into flames
