Removing an electric hob

I'm trying to remove an electric hob but I'm not having much luck.

I've taken the oven below the hob out to see if there's anything keeping it held in but there isn't anything obvious.

I've tried prizing it out with a large flathead screwdriver but the casing of the hob (underneath the part displayed above the kitchen surface) is stuck on both sides of the hob - it seems to be slightly wider than the hole cut in the surface.

Am I missing something or is it just being awkward?

Thanks.

Hi Gash , usually 3 or 4 clips screwed up from below also double-sided sticky sealant tape fitted around lip between hob & work top so no water penetration to exposed cut out in worktop, If been there for a while will need extreme persuasion to part company, try levering from below so as not to damage work top, Good luck

are there any screws in the bottom of the hob, some people take the hob apart and screw the base/tray to the worktop through the sides then re-assemble, don't know why but I've seen this done a few times.

Undo the screws and see if the top of the hob will lift off.
