Question: I have a Gas Hob sitting on top of a drawer unit. Is it allowed to connect the Hob to the gas supply by using a 1/2" cooker hose and bayonette fitting or must it be solid copper pipe.? A cooker hose would be less hassle for me after all you can connect a Gas Cooker by a bayonetted hose.

The gas hob will be ok installed using a rubber flexible hose and boyonet fitting. As it is to be fitted above a unit, not a oven.

A CORGI registered installer should fit it, don't fit one without testing for tightness and hope for the best.

This is not allowed if the hob is fitted above a oven, this is because the hose can crack and melt with the heat causing a dangerous sitiuation.

Many thanks for you reply. It will be fitted by a corgi engineer but I can now get on with finishing the units.
