need to vent tumble dryer from interior room through garage to outside.
I am aware should use metal smooth ducting. but do i need a fire break to comply with fire regs. If so what type of fire break would be suitable for metal vent. This is in a new house so current building regs compliance required.

I would think using a non vented dryer will work out cheaper, there have been a lot of changes with fire regulations of late, cables for example need to be held with metal clips every so often so they will not fall in the event of a fire, and it has caused argument after argument about things like if you can use plastic raw plugs as they will melt.

It has not been resolved, and with that in mind, I would say if it has to be done, then employ an expert to do it so you have all the certificates.

But I would think it's like fitting a multi-fuel fridge in a boat, it needs a vent below the fridge, and if you put in the vent the boat will sink, so it simply can't be done.
