Fitting a cooker extractor fan to an exisiting flue

Is it possible to fit a cooker extactor hood to an existing flue that was once used for a Rayburn?
Worried about power of fan to push air the height of flue and also condensation.
Would a condensate trap work in this instance? and can anyone recomend the strength of fan required.
