I have a friend who has moved to a new house with wireless controlled
central heating. Honeywell CM61 thermostat. Six positions for timer setting to come on, but no apparent settings for timing off. manual gives instructions to set for coming on, but not off. Anyone help?

You are confusing a programmable thermostat with how a timeswitch works. There are no off periods, just times when to change the temperature.

So for example at 7am, temp is set to 20 deg C. Then at 9am changes to 16 deg C, at 4pm to 20 deg C, and finally at 11pm down to 12 deg C. Then the cycle stars again.

thank marrtin. I assume then that setting a low temperature of say 6 or 7 degrees would be the equivalent of a turn off.
