Hi, I have an integrated washing machine which keeps filling up with water even when it is not on(usually happens over a period of 36 hrs before it needs emptying). Any ideas what the problem could be, does it sound like machine fault or something else?

If its continually filling with water I'd say the inlet valve is either broken or blocked and not closing fully.

Would need cleaning or replacement to cure it.

This is of course assuming its fresh water that's filling it, not waste water.

Hi, thanks. Where would I find the inlet valve? Would this be at the washing machine end or where the hose connects to the water?

washing machine end normally just inside the machine.

It will be inside the machine. If your looking yourself remember to unplug first.

Take the top off and have a look on the inside where the water hose is attached. The valve will either be there or it will be built into the drawer assembly where the water fills the machine from.

I don't know how easy it will be to remove the valve and see what's wrong.

Another thought I just had. It could be that the water pressure is too high for the valve to hold back. Try closing the valve that the hose connects to on your plumbing a little and see if that helps.
