I have removed the tiles from my old bathroom and much of the adhesive is still on the wall. The top coat of plaster on one of the walls is shot and it is easier to get the adhesive off by removing this plaster layer. Beneath is the grey rougher plaster my question is if i seal this surface can i tile directly onto this or should it be replastered.

regards

If you are removing the skim layer. As long as the surface is reasonably level, you can tile straight over. Stabilise the wall first to ensure the adhesive is going to adhere properly as the undercoat can often be very powdery. That is why the skim coat comes away so easily.
