Tiling over cork Advice and information on tiling and fixing tiles to a variety of surfaces

I have a concrete floor with embedded underfloor heating that is covered with cork tiles. They are the original tiles and have been down 30 years. They are firm (ie not spongy) and very securely fixed. (I know because I tried to remove a couple and it look hours to remove just some of the adhesive.) I would like to lay some Amtico vinyl tiles using their HT adhesive (specially formulated for underfloor heating etc). I know that the 'correct' way is to remove the cork and re-screed the floor, but this would be very difficult (have to remove all furniture etc etc.). Does anyone have experience of laying over the existing cork?

Northiam,
There is a good chance that if you tile over the cork the amtico tiles will curl at the edges due to the polish/glue which has been used on the cork.
Strip and apply a self levelling compound will be the only sure way of success.
