Cutting ceramic tiles

by lidboymk2 » Thu May 17, 2007 12:37 pm

Can someone tell me if one can cut ceramic tiles that are a panel of individual small tiles that are on a solid base. ie. with just a very small grove to be grouted. Would one cut them on the back or front.
Thanks

Many thanks for your reply. I would like to confirm that these tiles are eg. 1 large tile with a slight groove only 1 mm to look like 3 tiles, is this still the case that they can be cut. We live in the South of France and have asked at the tile shops and most people say yes you can probably cut them but it might be difficult. In this case what tile cutter would you advise, as we may need to buy a specific type.
