Hi,

I've just lifted 12sqm of ceramic floor tiles off my concrete kitchen floor. The files came off failrly easily, but have left lots of groovy, lumpy and bumpy adhesive on the floor. I want to lay a Vinyl flooring down so have to chip these off.

Does anyone has a quicker way than a coal chisel, 4lb hammer and then a MUT to scrap off the final ridges. Tried dampening them down with water, which eases it slightly but makes it messy.

Just how flat do I have to get it under the vinyl for it not to show the lumps and bumps?

Cheers

Get as much as you can off the way you are doing it. Then use self leveling compound to even out the remaining minor imperfections.
