floor tiling

by danstretton » Thu Aug 30, 2007 7:51 pm

Just a quick question... i am laying ceramic floor tiles this weekend. I have done this once before but some of the tiles lifted. Should i press or knock the tiles down into the pre mixed adhesive quite firmly ? i am tiling on to a concrete floor of a ten year old house, should i PVA the floor ? in the kitchen i have taken out the old vinyl floor tiles. The surface is nice and flat but it looks like the adhesive from the floor tiles is still on the floor and could be quite tricky to get up. Is it ok to tile straight onto this very thin adhesive layer ??

Thanks for looking at these probably simple silly questions !!
