Bathroom Floor Height Versus Landing Floor

First post (be gentle please)
I'm removing 18mm Weyroc chipboard and replacing it with ply. The bathroom has cork tiles 'welded' to the chipboard which are quite thin and there is no noticeable difference between the bathroom and the landing levelness. I'm intending to tile over 18mm ply that is not t&g.
1) Is it OK to subfloor with square edge ply (15 1/2 inch centres 2 inch wide joists) and if so do I butt them up against each other ?
2) If square edge ply is OK do I need anything between the ply and the tiles (apart from the adhesive ha)
2) Is it usual (accepted) for upstairs bathrooms tiled floors to be higher than the landing ?
thank you for reading
