Tiles or units first?

Hi All,
Which should come first? A freshly tiled kitchen floor, then the cabinetry, or cabinetry, then the floor? My concern with having the floor first is that when the cabinet maker fits the kitchen, I don't want to find that the plinth runs a few centimetres way from a grout line and that they're not perfectly perpendicular. Would this concern be negated by an irregular pattern rather than a grid pattern? Also, is it ok the lay tiles (probably Limestone or Basalt) onto and existing ceramic tile floor that has holes in it (from dropped objects) which I suspect are due to the ceramic tiles being laid on blobs of adhesive rather than adhesive that has been evenly spread?
