cutting plywood - rec size?

Hi folks - this may be a very dumb qn, but here goes....
I am going to be tiling a floor 239cm x 189cm. The flooring is 18mm flooring hardboard t&g sheets.
I've bought 244cmx122cm 6mm hardwood plywood to cover it first. My question was what is recommended for cutting these sheets - is it better to keep the pieces as large as possible - i.e. I could get one full sheet in (slightly trimmed in length) plus another narrowed. But - is it 'better' to trim into a regular size first - say 50 x 100 and 'tile' them?
Thanks,
Heeb
