Is there an easy way of completely removing vinyl transfers from ceramic kitchen tiles?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there,
With just a scraper it is hard work but if you boil the kettle against them it is so much easier. Hope it works for you

Thanks Fanann

I was becoming resigned to many hours of scraping but found by trial and error that painting the tiles with nail varnish remover (don't tell the wife) and leaving them for a few minutes the vinyl softens and is much easier to remove. However I am sure there are Health and Safety aspects associated with this method!

This couldn't be easier. I tried all the scraping and rubbing methods, which did not work and then got a cotton wool ball and soaked it in nail varnish remover and rubbed it on the tile transfer. It dissolved in seconds without any effort at all. Was able to do about thirty tiles in around five minutes.
