Treatment for House Longhorn Beetle

I read with interest that the above beetle should only be treated professionally. I think it is this beetle I have in wooden roof rafters. One company wants to use a toxic pharmaceutical (that can corrode metal) and another company suggests drilling holes and injecting a pharmaceutical. The wood is varnished. Could you please inform me as to which method is the accepted form of treatment.
