DIY woodworm product/treatment

I have noticed some woodworm while I was replacing some joists in my hallway so I'm wanting to complete a DIY treatment of the woodworm just to be safe.
I have done some research and noticed that the woodworm can be dormant for years but I'd like to spray something all the same before I sand my floors.
Can anyone suggest a spray/product that will be complete the treatment but also be safe enough for my wife's fish and dog to be in the house after the product has dried.
I'm not sure of the best products to use and also where I can buy these.
any thoughts would be great.
regards
