wall plugs in to wood? or just plain old wood screws? General problems, solutions, information and advice on fixing to walls of all kinds

Easy one for you...

I have a couple of things i want to fix on to my stud wall, and the studs are in exactly the right places for attachment.

So my question is, should i just use good quality wood screws for the fixing, or should i drill holes and use wall plugs like a brick wall.

Needs to be load bearing too so i dont want the fixings just popping off. The studs in the wall are very very sturdy and solid so they wont move.
