Securing a wallbed

by ruhcaw » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:41 am

Hello,

I am after some advice on the most suitable fixing to use in the following situation.

I am trying to install a wallbed (clei.co.uk/clei/ulisse.htm) which is secured by 3 brackets screwed to the top of the bed and fixed to the wall. It came supplied with "Masonmate Hollow Wall Anchors" but these seem to be for plasterboard etc but I'm trying to secure to a cavity outside wall where the outside is brick and inside seems to be thermolite or aircrete as it was very easy to drill. When the bed is operated is has 2 x gas struts so requires a bit of force to open so I'm after the most secure fixing possible so it doesn't fall on top of somebody at some stage.

Thanks in advance for your help

Andrew

use stardrive frame fixings ,drill a 6mm hole in the wall and simply drive the screw in with no need for raw plug.
