Hi.I am trying to fix a double rad(1100x600)to a plaster board wall in the kitchen. The problem i have is the board has been nailed onto thin wooden beams that were connected to the wall so there is around an inch gap between the board and the brick.I was just going to drill straight through to the brick and use big screws and plugs but i am worried about the inch gap and if this will cause problems because of the weight of the rad.
does anybody else have any ideas?

use redi drive or hollow wall anchors

i'd go with your original idea - into the brickwork. provided you use good long and chunky screws it shouldn't be a problem. or if you are concerned how about stud and resin? personally i wouldn't trust hollow wall fixings.
