Hi, I would like to re-decorate a room with a plasterboard wall that has loads of raw/wall plugs. Is there a best practice for removing these so I can fill before starting to decorate?

Thanks

Turn an ordinary screw in a few turns until it "bites" on the plug, then pull on the screw to pull the plug out.

Thanks, so just like a normal wall. I thought that due to the way plugs in plasterboard were designed to grip, this might rip large chunks of plaster off?

It depends what type of plug they are. You may find they won't come out, so get something slightly smaller than the head of the plug to act as a punch, and knock the plug into the cavity.
