re fixing radiator to wall General problems, solutions, information and advice on fixing to walls of all kinds

Hi my first post here

I live in a grade 2 listed house a lot of the walls are lime and plaster(hope that is the right term). A radiator that was fitted some 9 years ago has come away from a wall and when taking it from the wall as carefully as poss created several large holes in the wall.

I need advice in what would be a good way to fill these holes and be strong enough to hold the radiator once re-fixed to the wall

I'm guessing the wall has wooden laths strips running through it too,
Terrible walls to work with! or is it a brick/stone wall
If all the rest of wall is in good nick it's a plaster patch repair, i'd consider chopping holes a bit bigger if it's a stud wall, so you could get wooden noggins in to fix rads on to after repair. If it's brick/stone just patch up and re-drill for rad brackets.
