We are having 2 walls knocked thru downstairs to make kitchen and 2 receptions open plan - no doors.

The staircase is walled on either side adjoining the neighbour's house on one side, and then a fire wall that boxes it in from the rest of downstairs - apart from the entrance to the bottom of the stairs that's open.

The house is your typical Victorian terrace - 1 room wide (about 4m) and 3 rooms deep. It's 3 storeys high. The loft room has a door at the bottom of an enclosed staircase, but it ain't a fire door!

Can you see any problems fire regs wise? Do we need a fire door to the loft room?

Advice needed!

you will need an fire escape window fitted in the loft and a fire door to the loft.
You must consult the building control officer first,he is there to help you
so long as your up front with what you are doing they are pretty good
with you.
