Building regs & glazing

Hi
First time poster!
We are having a kitchen / diner built on the back of our house.
The builder is liasing with building control etc.
Today the building inspector took to me one side and said " you have too many windows in the extension, its overglazed, the glazing exceeds 25% of the ground area".
There is a lot of glass, (2 big windows and a french doors) but thats what we want, bright and airy.
My architect comes home from holiday tommorrow, so need to speak to him whens he back, can anyone help me? Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks
Dash
