Power to garage attached to coachhouse

Hi can anyone help?

We are about to buy a new build house which has a garage at the end of the garden which is attached to another garage (the neighbours) which is then attached to the end wall of a coachhouse.

I have asked the developer to fit power to the garage but they have told me that this can not be done for insurance reasons as it is attached to a coachhouse.

Is this true or is the developer spinning me a tale as the house is completed?

Are there specific building regs on this?

Thanks

Power to Garage

There is no reason at all why the garage cannot have power to it. All the garages would need to be built to ensure that they have adequate fire protection.

It would be the same as the developer saying he could not provide power to a terraced house because it is joined to other houses.

As long as the supply conforms to Part P of the Building Regulations 2000 (as amended) and is fitted by an approved 'part P' Electrician there should be no problem.
