Building reg question re boiler in bedroom, and toilet width

Does anyone know whether there are building regulations issues with either of the following:
1) I'd like to build a toilet in a narrow corridor, approx 55cm wide. I've read somewhere that you need a minimum of 70cm width, for disabled access. However, there are stairs down to our lower ground floor flat, so I think this is void. However, I wonder if there is any other reason not to build a toilet in such a narrow space?
2) In our extension plans, we may need to leave a boiler in what will be our master bedroom. I think we could bear this if we build it into a ventilated but soundproofed wardrobe. However, is there a building regs prohibition on gas boilers in bedrooms?
Thanks SO much for any advice you can offer.
