Building Regs - Bedroom Door and LandingsHi

Hi
I need to remove a non load bearing wall and door in our bedroom in order to make space to fit wardrobes in. I have 2 questions if somebody can help me please:-
1) Do I need Building Regs to remove an internal non load bearing wall?
2) As I wil be moving the bedroom door closer to the landing it means the stairs will literally be by the door opening, are their any laws the prohibit this? I;m thinking from a safety perspective.
Many thanks
