Building an outbuilding on listed land

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.

My house and its original garden are Grade II listed. I purchased an adjoining strip of (agricultural) land separately, with its own deeds, in 1988 so as to extend the garden. This land has never been contested and by right of time is legally a garden area now.

I want to build a double-garage-sized workshop/shed on a piece of the extended garden (not the original garden).

Can anyone tell me if I can legally go ahead with this without getting listed building consent.

Thanks in advance

you can try but its unlikely to get approved, unless you build it out of timber and its classed as a temporary structure.Contact your local planning officer for more infomation
