Hello

Please could i have some advice

A friend of mine has asked me to build a extension on top of their single story extension.

The extension there now is 6ft x 8ft and is a bathroom. The new extension they want is for a shower room toilet.

I have suggested to build a timber frame and clad the external

would you need building regs /planning ?

Also suggested a pvc frame half panel half glass. They have a secluded back

No one can see on to their back garden

Any help please

Thank you, Paul

you will still need planning consent, a upvc panel type construction would not pass building regs, you could use timber but that's up to the planning officer

As above you will need a building inspector. But i would first check the exsisting foundations a strong enough before you start as the local inspector may ask you to dig a test hole to see the depth of the foundations.
