Removal of the Ground Floor Chimney Breast for Knock Through

Im looking to knock through the wall between the kitchen and the living room to create an open kitchen/living area.
There is a chimney in the ground floor as part of that partition wall.
The chimney is not attached to any of the outer walls of the house.
The chimney has previous been removed by the original owner from the first floor.
The chimney stack is still present on the roof
Either side of the chimney is just timber stud work.
There is an RSJ running from the front to back of the house about 1 meter to the left of the chimney so im assuming that this is holding the load and not the chimney stack.
How safe would it be to DIY the removal?
How much should it cost to get someone to do a professional job?
