gas pipe

my builders have concreted the footings for my new extension,over the gas pipe,is this correct?

The gas pipe should be laid in sand and there must be a lintel over the pipe as it runs under the foundations. Best idea is to alter the incoming pipe so it enters the wall above ground level. Remember all gas work must be carried out by qualified gas engineers

It might be after all all he can see is the concrete.

best idea is to ..........................

discuss your concern direct with the builder and assure yourself it was done correctly and according to bldg regs. If it wasn't get him to do it again at his expense.

Did you need planning permission for this work? If so, no doubt at some stage (well several really) there will be a bldg inspector along to have a peek and ensure it is being done properly.
