Drilling into web chords

Years ago, before stilts were available, I suspended timber over the insulation in my attic (house built around 2005) to take boards. I attached each timber to the web trusses with four 6mm bolts through the web trusses (one bolt per truss) This was perfectly adequate in terms of rigidity and after six or seven years absolutely NO ill-effects: no splitting of timber, and not a single crack in any ceiling or wall. I'm only worried that I've since read that these timbers should not be drilled under any circumstances. Do I have anything to worry about if my house is ever surveyed?

Hi deepseaball,
I doubt that a 6mm hole in each rafter will make any difference provided the loft is storage only.
I also doubt that any surveyor will bother to look in your loft - it would mean climbing up a ladder!!!
