Putting up stud wall next to party wall

by KeithC » Fri Jul 24, 2020 3:07 pm

Hi, I'm due to replace my conservatory roof for a light weight tiled roof. We are putting a stud wall up next to a party wall, so there will be very little contact. What are the legal requirements to keep my neighbour happy, our conservatory has been attached to this party wall for over 20 years. My neighbour has emailed me to say I need to give him 2 months notice regards the stud wall which will be a none load bearing wall. He also has a vent in his party wall, which actually faces in to my property this will need to be moved, I have offered to have it moved at my expense, does that also require two months notice.
Any advice, help, would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Keith

Hi Keith
To be safe suggest you comply with the 2 month rule for all the work.
