Full Height Doors

I'm looking for peace of mind:
My intention is to install full height doors on the upper level of a typical brick built 1958 semi. This means breaking out the brickwork above the door and installing the new full height frame.
Once having installed the frame, which is screwed into the brickwork, do I need to "tie in" any of the walls within the loftspace?
