Hello. I live in a Victorian terrace, in which the attic is already converted to a bedroom with a fixed/permanent staircase. Off the corridor on the first floor is the door to the attic bedroom (I will attach a picture). I would like to remove this door and knock the wall which houses the staircase up to the attic bedroom to allow light to flood my first floor landing as it is dark with it being a terrace. I have read (but poorly understood) that by doing this I will be breaking fire regulations as the attic bedroom does not have a door onto the corridor/hallway. I was wondering if anyone was more knowledgeable on fire regulation and if I had understood this correctly? Thank you

Since you are proposing works which will need Building Regs approval the corridor/escape route down the stairs will have to be fire protected. So all dots off will have to be fire doors and you will not be allowed to go through occupieable open rooms.
