Quality of Recent Loft Conversion

Hi there,

I've just had a loft conversion completed and now that I have painted everything it has become very apparent that the levels are way out all over.

The join between the waist high wall that runs all around the perimeter and the sloping part that forms the ceiling is up and down all the way along. The problem is that this has only become obviously visible since it was painted. A friend of mine suggested that it is because the plasterboard fixed to the rafters and joists was in small vertical sections instead of long horizontal sections that run along the line of the purlin? Also, the diagonal join between two of the sloping sections curves quite a lot between the top and the bottom. Hopefully that makes sense!

I might just be picky but I would have at least expected all of the lines to be straight? Would it be reasonable to ask for a reduction in cost on quality grounds?
