removing a tie bar from a loft during conversion

DIY dOCTOR,
please advise, relates tro 1934 semi loft conversion to utility room. Need to remove the middle tie bar( picture attached) which is obsructing loft access. Understand that the tie-bar 4"x2" wood is not load bearing and its purpose is to prevent roof spread. |Three tie bars in the roof, one above and one below the middle one, one at ridge height and the other on top of ceiling joists. Need to cut out the middle section and tie the remaining stubs into the vertical roof joists, making secure at each end. Can you advise on the means/ materials to make a sound safe and secure job. Should I use 1" thick plywood triangle shaped sections tieing the stub tie -bar to vertical roof joists and ceiling level tie-bar to prevent flexing/movement in the roof.
