Assuming its the inner skin that supports the weight of the roof, do the base plate ends of roof trusses have to overlap the inner skin at all ? the base plates are sitting on 100mm of engineering brick. I can't find the relevant bit of the building regs ( uk ).
thank you

The regs state that a minimumbearing is required at each end of the truss depending on the load and that load must be transferred alomh the wall by means of a wall plate. This wall plate is usually a 4 x 2 inch timber sitting on the top of a 100mm wall. The only reason trusses usually cross the caity and go through the outside wall is to take the roof surface beyond the external wall. If your trusses finish on an inside skin, what happens to the roof surface ?
