mechanical ventilation??

by dazedandconfused » Sun Feb 21, 2010 3:52 pm

Hi all

I am converting the back half of the integral garage in my town house into a habitable room, leaving the front half as a garden store.

There is already a door from the hallway into the garage - this will be enlarged to allow for french doors as part of the project.

Building control have visited and are happy with this provided that (excrutuatinly expensive glazed) fire doors are fitted and the room has mechanical ventilation to bring in fresh air.

I've googled this until I'm blue in the face and am struggling to find exactly what this type of mech ventilation (as opposed to an extractor far) is.

Any help or pointers as to what is required and where to find it much appreciated

Thanks

dazedandconfused,
Google heat recovery systems, the only problem may be the size of these systems, apart from expense that is.
end
