Which beams to strengthen?

Hi there, In my loft (new build house) there's the W shaped trusses I've read about. It's been partially floored (for storage i assume) in the center strip, but I want to strengthen them so's i can safely store some music equipment (amps, speakers etc).
What's caught me out is that, the existing flooring in the loft is raised from the ceiling beams below by about a foot. The current flooring is on identical sized beams which are attached using the same approach as the other beams (what I think is called gang nails?) between the inner beams of the W shape trusses.
To make the loft flooring for my heavier storage, do i strengthen these beams (by sistering them) or do i need to do the celing beams below??
I haven't read about this type of problem anywhere online, so am stumped?
thanks
Jerrico
