dark kitchen
can anyone give me an idea on how to get more light into this kitchen.
We would like to buy this house but you need lights on all the time.
the kithen window faces west, and the oak tree is very large and also stops a lot of the light coming in, any help would be nice.

If your kitchen does not have a bedroom above it you can install a sunpipe,Basically its a tube that has a prism on it that fits on your roof and is very effective to create natural light into poorly lit areas.
Other than that you could install low voltage spot lighting and concealed lights under the kitchen cuboards to give you more light.

The sunpipe is a really good idea. I have seen once. It really does the job.
