Cornish Unit Internal Walls - What are They Made of?

Hi All,
I am buying a Cornish Unit (yes I know that they are pre-fab and are 'sub-standard' but it is all I could afford) and I am thinking of changing some of the downstairs internal walls.
I know what the external walls are made of and that the upstairs ceilings contain asbestos but I wonder if anyone knows what the ground floor internal walls are made of (do they also contain asbestos?).
I specifically want to alter the walls in the kitchen to better use the space. The walls I want to take out are cupboard walls and so very unlikely to be structural.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
