Need help with ideas on how to fix this wall

Hi,
Apologies if this isn't the correct area to post this but we've recently moved in to a property (bungalow) and decided to go ahead with the kitchen refurb. Obviously as with everyone money is tight and we're looking at cost effective ways to do things. We did intend to clean up and re-paint the units but found there must have been a leak at some point, when we pulled out the bottom cabinets the wall is clearly water damaged and the piece of wood at the bottom(not sure the technical term sorry) has completely rotted. Now to make things worse the wall is this eggshell stuff so it's not a proper stud wall as with most houses. I have no idea if it's load bearing, i'm guessing/hoping not. The other side of the wall is the bathroom and i'm hoping i won't have to rip the entire wall down and build a full stud... obviously in an ideal world etc etc. Many thanks in advance.

Hi shaunconny,
Unfortunately it looks like you have an egg box wall made up of honeycomb cardboard with sheets of heavy duty card on either side.
If you can, replace the rotten timber at the bottom and then stick sheets of plasterboard on the wall, I suggest you use sticky foam.

Thanks for your reply @stoneyboy. I'm going to cut away the plaster up to about 4ft where the rot has eventually stopped! What is Stickyfoam? and do you mean use that to stick the boards instead of nailing/screwing them in?
Thanks.

Hi shaunconny.
I doubt you will find anything to screw to which is why I suggest sticky foam search for it on the internet.
