Loft Conversion options

I could do with some advice about a possilbe loft conversion.
The loft is 7m by 10.65m and is 3.35m to the apex. The roof is held up using 4 long rafters these are held in place by 2 'A' Frames. The 'A' Frames split the Loft into 3 sections. The 'A' Frames are well of the floor and 1/3 of the floor has full sized floor joists.

What options do I have.

I have attached a layout drawing and a picture of the 'A' frame at the web site below.

I have a large bungalow with a very shallow roof.

If I wanted to convert the loft space would I have to replace the roof / build a second floor or would it be possible to fit large dormer style windows.

What would the minimum height of the apex be in order to have a viable space ?

Thanks
Mark

Its not really possible to tell if dormers would be enough without drawings etc Mark and the regs state a minimum of 2m head height as you come up the stairs into the loft space but there are a lot more regulations involved in a loft conversion that this. Go to our projects section and have a look at the loft conversion project where you will get detailed advice.
