Heavy duty Timber bench seat

I am thinking of making a heavy duty timber bench seat to be placed in our village. The local community association is costing these and prices are anything between £500-£700.
I want to use either ethical sourced wood from replensihable source or recycled timber.

Does anyone have any plans to include itemised list of supplies needed.

Also what would be the best timber to use?

Hopefully the cost would be substantially cheaper than shown above.

Take a look at our woodworking plans section in the projects pages, there may be a bench there.

Hi All

A quick update to this post - we have recently published a new project page all about how to use the Simpson Strong Tie work bench kit to build your own work bench. This system can also be used for building shelving units and also possibly a heavy duty bench, with a little imagination - have a look and see what you think:
