Climbing plant flowering

can someone recommend me a good climbing plant.
Want to have it climb up my wooden fence, rather have one that clings to the fence rather than putting trellis up.
The fence is in back garden, faces south. Gets sun. Clay soil. Wife would like something that flowers in the summer and winter.
We are not great gardeners so something that is easy to look after
