Call the fire brigade?

Evening All,
I want to make and install a small woodburner for my 8' x 12' (wooden) shed.
The wife is unimpressed, pointing out that naked flame and timber buildings are not an ideal combination.
So, please pull my basic plan to bits and advise away...
The Plan;
Take a 32" di x 11" high steel drum. (it's a sturdy mini-me of a regular dustbin)
Use lid as base plate cum ash collector.
Drill lid with ventilation holes.
Drill lower portion of drum with ventilation holes.
Cut rectangular gap for wood loading in drum.
Insert 6" di x 48" long aluminium pipe into to of drum (exit through shed roof) to act as flue
Trouble is, I don't really know;
How far from the walls I should place the drum.
What I should insulate the wall behind the drum with.
How to seal the joint between pipe/flue and drum.
How to seal and / or insulate the joint between the flue and the shed roof.
Maybe it can't, or shouldn't be done, but the price of running an electric heater last winter was considerable and as we live in the woods...
Cheers,
Shane
