CUTTING INTO BRICKS

We've just tiled the floor in our living room with 60x60 porcelain tiles. We also used these for the Gas fire surround, ready for when it arrives. Fire arrived, measurements OK, however, then they told us we need a flue box. Got the flue box and the hole is now too small to fit it. There are Bricks laid both sides of the Chimney with the tiles on top. Does anyone know what tool I could use to cut throught the porcelain tile and brickwork, sort of slice a couple of cm off to make the hole bigger - or do I need to take the tiles off take the bricks out, and re-tile?

Hi,

I'd think a diamond blade in a grinder would start you off. Then get you chisels and a lump hammer out!!
