Positioning Airbricks

Is there any regulation about whether airbricks should be positioned above or below the dampcourse? We have a deep void under our suspended wooden floor and are going to install some French Doors. An airbrick is positioned where the threshold of the new doors will be. It is on top of the dampcourse. Can we move it to below the dampcourse? It would still be in the void.

Thanks

Brendan
